A Ladies Night Out Party is a gender-exclusive activity where adult women, rather than underage girls, meet to engage in social activities, usually after a workday to break up the stress of the week. Typical activities may include dinner and a movie or meeting for drinks or at a night club; more often than not these activities are out of home, and may also include watching TV or a movie together, and playing games (sometimes with mature or sexual nature). Bachelorette-type games are becoming popular at Ladies Night Out functions.

Dinners and cocktail parties, which provide comfortable opportunities for participants to socially talk or to give intimate advice to each other, are common. Other choose a themed Ladies Night "In" party, such as a "pamper party," with guests indulging in spa treatments, or a new trend is for hosted adult toy parties where women share the experience of learning about intimate adult toys and games.

Some Ladies Night Out events take place in public venues, such as a restaurant or bar, taking advantage of special "Ladies Only, or Ladies Drink Free Nights".
